Bainbridge Island, Wash., Nov 18, 2015—Health Systems Informatics (HSi), a healthcare consulting and solutions firm, announced today that Stephanie Hojan and Kathie Crane, RN, MSN, have been promoted to senior leadership positions, Vice President and Epic Practice Director respectively. In her new role, Hojan will be responsible to drive core business strategies around technology and information solutions and customer service programs. Crane will guide the existing Epic Service Practice and expand new services to support customer needs.

“Stephanie is a thought leader in the area of strategic planning and data utilization execution to achieve value outcomes. She has repeatedly proven with both large and small clients how planning and governance achieves true measurable value,” says Randy Carson, President and COO of HSi. “Through her strong leadership and customer-centric approach, Stephanie will continue to develop and direct HSi and our clients through the maturing healthcare data and information management space.”

Over the past 15 years, Hojan has provided healthcare organizations with a broad range of IT and analytics expertise, including executive-level data consulting, information governance development, strategic planning, process design, report development, project management, and revenue cycle report management. She brings a strong vision of “hard” value to customers both clinically and fiscally. Over her tenure at HSi, Hojan has developed several successful service platforms and continues to contribute to the firm’s overall growth.

“Kathie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to HSi and our customers. As an accomplished registered nurse, she understands the workflow and care challenges faced by physicians and nurses when Electronic Health Records (EHRs) are setup inefficiently,” says Gerry Bartley, Chairman and CEO of HSi. “Kathie is an effective, results-oriented leader with a focus on optimization for clinicians, patient safety and clinical efficiency—all of which drive an accurate and timely revenue cycle and patient satisfaction.”

With over 20 years as a registered nurse and 13 of them as an informatics clinician, Crane excels at bridging the functions of clinical care and information technology (IT) by demonstrating expertise in nursing practice and using IT best practices to transform healthcare delivery. Over her career, she has successfully led teams through multiple EPIC and MEDITECH EHR implementation and optimization efforts—dating back to one of the first Epic adopters. With a focus on measuring the value of optimization, Crane has supported multiple hospital programs that achieved HIMSS Stage 6 and 7, Davies Award and Meaningful Use Stage 1 and 2 attestations.
