HSi Announces New Advisory Board Member and Executive Leadership Promotions

Seasoned CIO & VP of Kaizen, Quality, Safety to bring expert guidance in executive leadership, healthcare information technology, and clinical and operational process improvement strategies to further enhance healthcare consulting service offerings

Bainbridge Island, Wash., October 8, 2018—Health Systems Informatics (HSi), a healthcare consulting and solutions firm, announced today that Leah Mitchell, MSN, BS, RN—CIO and Vice President of Kaizen, Quality and Safety at Salem Health—has joined its Advisory Board mid-year.  The company also announced today that Stephanie Hojan and Scott Generazo have been promoted to executive leadership positions, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President respectively.  In her new role, Hojan will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and manage the day-to-day business and operations of the company, including the ongoing execution of the company’s strategy.  Generazo will also report to the CEO and oversee all sales and delivery efforts of the company.

The new executive team and expanded Advisory Board consists of experienced leaders with extensive industry knowledge, specialties and skills sets to further the momentum of the organization, including:

Leah Mitchell, MSN, BS, RN (Advisory Board Member) – CIO and Vice President of Kaizen, Quality, and Safety at Salem Health

Over the last 6 years, Mitchell has provided the vision and leadership to Kaizen integration, Quality, Safety and Patient Care Services for the health system, including a 490-bed acute care hospital, psychiatric center, a community critical access hospital, sixteen outpatient clinics and a rehabilitation center. She oversees strategic initiatives including process improvement, patient satisfaction, clinical outcomes, departmental productivity, infection prevention, and organizational profit.  In 2015, she took on the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) responsible for the oversight of strategic vision and streamlining of Information Technology (IT) operational efficiencies for enterprise analytics, business intelligence, EHR Inpatient and Outpatient systems, electronic workflows, clinical engineering, community connect and network operations.  In addition, Mitchell participates in several boards and councils and has provided numerous lectures on Lean implementation and practice.

Stephanie HojanChief Operating Officer  

For the last three years, Hojan has served as Vice President at HSi, leading the expansion of Population Health Management and advanced Healthcare Information and Analytics Management service platforms while actively partnering with clients to clarify their long-term vision for reporting and analytics to better manage data and achieve clinical and operational goals. With a customer-centric approach, she brings a strong vision of “hard” value to customers both clinically and financially.

Scott GenerazoExecutive Vice President 

Generazo served as Senior Vice President of Client Services for the last six years.  As a healthcare information systems executive, he specializes in hospital clinical and financial workflow processes, MEDITECH EHR Implementation and Support services, electronic billing systems and compliance solutions. Over his tenure at HSi, Generazo has delivered strategic planning and hands-on systems leadership in a wide variety of areas within healthcare IT and continues to contribute to the firm’s overall growth.
